Russia: Jesus of Siberia

In 1990 former Siberian traffic cop, Sergey Anatolyevitch Torop, had a revelation that he was the reincarnation of Christ and founded a religious movement known as the Church of the Last Testament. The head church is located in the Siberian Taiga east of the city of Abakan. The settlement has nearly five thousand inhabitants. Vissarion’s religious teachings combine elements of the Russian Orthodox Church and Buddhism.
